w00t. I've been increasingly worried about a leak coming from somewhere around my refrigerator. Tonight, seeing that it hadn't improved and may have been getting worse, I pulled out the plug and hauled that sucker forward to get a better look. It was a pinhole leak in the water supply that feeds the ice maker. Foil tape didn't solve the problem. Well, this sounds annoying and worrisome even now that I know how it ends. But I'd been meaning to put in a water filter on that line for a while anyway. So, without a net, I kinked the line and tied it with a twist tie. Then I cut the line on either side of the leak, quickly learned how to install a water filter, and cleaned up the water and schmutz. I dried off the filter and line, wrapped dry paper towels around it, and waited five minutes. Dry as a bone! So now all I have to do is throw out the first few trays of ice to be sure the carbon is out. w00t.

Yup. My east leg is a bit sunburned -- but not badly. Just nobody tell me any knee-slappers for a few days, okay?

There must be some "Only Protestant Christians can march" rule around here. Three or four Baptist churches were in the Brandon parade this morning. Then some sort of Gospel Lighthouse, an Assembly of God (Pentecostal), and assorted Methodists. Where were the Marching Lubavitchers? Why no Pagan Blessing Squad? Were the Catholics busy? And how about some militant Agnostics waving signs that say "We're not really sure, and NEITHER ARE YOU"? And every kind of military group was there, from the Civil Air Patrol to the Marine Corps right back down to some ROTC NOTCs. The Coast Guard Auxiliary was taking a break from sending refugees back into Castro's hands, and the Air Force brought trucks. It was an enjoyable parade anyhow. My east leg will probably be a bit sunburned, but that's what I get for arriving early. It was nice to get home before anyone else -- I biked over, less than a mile, with the folding chair slung over my shoulder. It feels like the weekend, but it's not. The weekend is when Jodi arrives! :)
